Double Trouble Q&A #1
Hello, dear readers! This is the first questions and answers post related to the Double Trouble web comic. The questions below were chosen, adapted and translated from a critique sent to me by the reader Ana Júlia:
Q: Why is Gill's older brother so much older than the other siblings?
A: This question has been asked by other critics as well. It's a mistake derived from my current limitations. I meant to draw Edon (Gill's older brother) as a very worn out man to show his state of mind, but that was too much. He ended up looking much older than he really is. I intend to correct this mistake in the next chapter without altering the published material.
Q: I found it interesting that you said the main character's city is known for its crime rate, but used to be known for its hot springs before that. Is the rest of the world is like that as well? What is the name of the world? How is it different from ours?
A: The world building in Double Trouble derives from a tabletop role-playing game I spent about four years developing (unpublished). However detailed it may be, most information about it will only come out as it's necessary for plot development, and that's a deliberate choice.
Q: The war killed Gill's father. Were other Maji involved as well? Are they forbidden from showing their abilities to outsiders, or was it just his father that wanted to keep a secret?
A: Regarding the Maji and their abilities, it was a mistake to use the term "secret art" in chapter one for it doesn't mean what the reader may intuitively assume. In the context of the game that precedes the web comic, a secret art is one that doesn't happen to be of public knowledge, but it is not necessarily a secret in the literal sense of the word. More on the Maji and their arts in the next chapters!!
It is an honor to have someone interested enough in my work to take the time and ask questions, criticize it etc. I hope to continue publishing questions and answers in the future! If you want to have your questions answered, please leave a comment them below!
Special thanks to Ana Júlia and her uncle Derick.
